Nature and Wildlife

Mount Meru has many habitats within it and you will see a wide range of vegetation, from colourful tropical flowers to pine trees, grassland, and the waterfall environment which is characterised by ferns, mosses and lichens.

During your walking tour you may be lucky enough to see monkeys.  The two main species of monkey found on the mountain are blue monkeys (which aren’t actually blue, but greyish in colour!) and black-faced vervet monkeys.  You may also spot squirrels, frogs, or small rodents.
